MY COMMUNITY

In December, we had an important visitor in our Science class. 
This person is Francisco, Fran´s grandfather who was a councillor in Mojados.
He told us about the councillors, the Town Hall and the Mayor in Mojados. 

 MY NEIGHBOURHOOD

My neighbourhood is the place where I live
 and the people that live in it. 

WHAT IS THERE IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD?

There are blocks of flats.

There are parks.

There are supermarkets.

There are traffic lights.

There is a police station.

There is a bookshop.

There are pedestrian crossings.

There is a post box.

There is a bus stop.

Are you a good neighbour?  
Help and respect your neighbours. Be nice and friendly.

1-PUBLIC TRANSPORT.

Everybody can use public transport to move from one place to another.

Forms of public transport: 
buses, taxis, trains, planes and the metro.

 

2- PRIVATE TRANSPORT.

Some people use private transport to go from one place to another. 

Forms of private transport: 
bicycle, motorcycle and car.

 

3-COMMERCIAL TRANSPORT. 

They are used to transport food and other goods.

Forms of commercial transport:  van and lorry.

The members of the local council are the councillors and the head of the local council is the mayor.
 

The local council works to organize the community.

The local council works in a building called the Town Hall. 





The local council helps our neighbourhood.

1- The local council looks after parks.

2- The local council looks after old people.

3- The local council fixes roads.



4- The local council keeps us safe.

5- The local council organizes special events.
 

6- The local council collects the rubbish.
