23 DE ABRIL DÍA DE CASTILLA Y LEÓN
Como ya sabéis, el día 23 de abril, además de ser el día del libro, es el día de nuestra comunidad, Castilla y León.
Ya sabéis que la comunidad está compuesta por nueve provincias y que es la más grande de España.
Su capital es Valladolid.

Pero, ¿Sabéis por qué es nuestra fiesta el día 23 de abril?
En octubre de 1517, el rey Carlos I llegó a
España proveniente de Flandes, donde se había
autoproclamado rey de sus posesiones españolas en 1516.
A las Cortes de Valladolid de 1518 llegó sin saber hablar apenas
castellano y
trayendo consigo un gran número de ministros
extranjeros, lo que
produjo que los castellanos se enfadaran y
temieran pensando que
perderían el poder y la situación en la que
vivían.
Este
descontento fue transmitiéndose de unos a otros yen 1520 se
creó una
revolución donde los castellanos pedían que la reina fuera
Juana la Loca, madre de Carlos I.
Tras prácticamente un año de rebelión, las tropas del rey capturaron
a los líderes de la revuelta castellana en la batalla de Villalar el 23
de abril de 1521.
Allí mismo, al día siguiente, se decapitó a esos líderes Juan de Padilla, Juan Bravo y Francisco Maldonado.

The objects around you are made of many different materials:
metal, glass, cotton, wood, plastic, leather, paper, wool and fabric are common materials that we use everyday.

Materials can be natural or man-made. Natural materials come directly from plants, animals or the ground.
Wood, leather and clay are examples of natural materials.
Plastic is a man-made material.

Smooth
Glass is hard, smooth and rigid. We use glass to make windows because it is transparent.
Plastic can be smooth, hard or flexible. Some plastic products are transparent. Other plastic products are not transparent, they are opaque.
